Iraq and the Kurdistan Region's economies were hit hard by the rise of ISIS. The precipitous crash in oil prices, coupled with a costly war and extraordinary humanitarian crisis stressed government institutions and the private sector to the breaking point.

ISIS' so-called caliphate is finished, but the destruction they wrought remains. 1.4 million displaced Syrians and Iraqis remain in Kurdistan Region alone, unable to return to their destroyed homes.

What role can the private sector play in reconstructing destroyed villages and providing employment and livelihood? What can the KRG and government of Iraq do? And what is the future of international investment and business in the region?
